🌍 Daffodil International University (DIU), in partnership with the Global Law Thinkers Society (GLTS), hosted an impactful "Pre-COP29 Group Discussion: Advancing Sustainable Living & Green Economy for Climate Action." Held ahead of COP29, this forum gathered thought leaders from academia, civil society, and government to discuss Bangladesh's contributions to global climate goals and sustainable development.
The discussions highlighted DIU’s dedication to sustainability in education and research, reinforced by its top rankings in the QS and THE Impact Rankings, as noted by Dr. Mahfuza Parveen, Director of Research at DIU. Key speakers included Dr. David Dowland of BRAC University and Ms. Raoman Smita from GLTS, who focused on inclusive climate adaptation and the essential role of climate finance to support national commitments.
Insights from community leaders like Mr. Subir Kumar Saha emphasized practical solutions for urban sustainability, while Mr. S.M. Arafat discussed strategies for effective environmental awareness. Together, these discussions demonstrated Bangladesh’s proactive stance on climate action and DIU’s role in training future climate advocates.
