Research Culture at DIU & High Impact Publications

Organized by Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI), Daffodil International University, in collaboration with the Division of Research (DoR), a training program on “Research Culture at DIU & High Impact Publications” was held on 6 September 2026 at the Prof. Dr. Aminul Islam Seminar Hall. The session was conducted by Dr. Md. Sarowar Hossain, Director, Division of Research (DoR) and Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy, Daffodil International University.

The training program focused on the importance of research in professional growth, advancement of knowledge, solving real-world problems, meeting institutional expectations, and enhancing teaching practices. The session also highlighted DIU’s research culture and the role of the Division of Research in promoting internationally recognized research, external research funding, high-quality publications, research collaboration, and faculty engagement.

Participants were introduced to key aspects of high-impact academic publishing, including Scopus, journal quartiles, CiteScore, and SJR. The training also emphasized the importance of maintaining updated academic profiles on Google Scholar, ORCID, ResearchGate, and Scopus, along with an overview of DIU’s research and publication policies.

A significant part of the session focused on the research and publication support available to DIU researchers, including publication and APC support, course-waiver opportunities, and external research funding. Participants were also briefed on the Funding Management Portal and the procedures for applying for and managing externally funded research projects.

The program also showcased DIU’s growing research activities and achievements, including Scopus-indexed publications, national and international research collaborations, student research initiatives, research progress workshops, training programs, seminars, webinars, and research award activities.
