The Division of Research (DoR) of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a faculty-focused session titled “PROGRESS TOWARDS IMPACT: Overview of Research & Innovation” on 29 August 2026 at Kobi Nazrul Eduplex, DIU Central Library, Daffodil Smart City (DSC). The session brought together faculty members to reflect on the university’s research progress, research support mechanisms, innovation activities, and opportunities for creating greater research impact.

The program began with an introductory session involving the newly joined Director of the Division of Research (DoR), Dr. Md. Sarowar Hossain and the Departmental Research Coordinators, providing an opportunity to discuss their roles, priorities, and the importance of stronger coordination between the Division of Research and academic departments.

A key part of the program focused on the Research Navigator, which provided researchers with a concise overview of DIU’s research ecosystem, including institutional research portals, publication support, research incentives, external funding and consultancy opportunities, and essential compliance requirements. The session aimed to help faculty members better understand the available pathways and institutional support for advancing their research activities.

The program also featured an Overview of Research & Innovation (ORI) presentation, highlighting the broader research and innovation landscape at DIU. The presentation provided an overview of research achievements and activities while emphasizing the importance of quality publications, research collaboration, intellectual property, funding, innovation, and translating research outcomes into meaningful impact.

The session encouraged faculty members to engage more actively with available research opportunities and institutional mechanisms while strengthening collaboration between researchers, departments, and the Division of Research. It also highlighted the importance of moving beyond research outputs toward outcomes that contribute to academic excellence, innovation, industry, and society.

Through this initiative, Daffodil International University reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its research and innovation ecosystem and supporting researchers in their journey from research activity to measurable impact.
