Daffodil International University (DIU) organized an insightful and interactive workshop titled “Research Ethics and Publications: Writing Grants and Patents” on 21 October 2025 (Tuesday) at the Prof. Dr. Aminul Islam Seminar Hall, Daffodil Smart City, Knowledge Tower. The session was jointly organized by the Division of Research (DoR) and the Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI), DIU.
The workshop aimed to enhance faculty members’ understanding of ethical research practices, research proposal development, grant writing, patent filing, and academic publishing standards. It provided practical guidance to strengthen DIU’s research ecosystem and align faculty efforts with international research excellence.
The session was facilitated by Dr. Ahmed Mustafa, Professor of Biology and Director of the Life Sciences Resource Center at Purdue University Fort Wayne, USA; Dr. Mahfuza Parveen, Associate Professor, Department of Environmental Science and Disaster Management & Director, Division of Research, DIU; and Dr. Md. Zohurul Haque, Consultant (Patent), Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS), DIU.
The facilitators discussed key aspects of research ethics, proposal evaluation, international funding opportunities, and the role of patents in promoting innovation and protecting intellectual property. Faculty members from various departments of DIU actively participated and shared their experiences during the interactive session.
The event reflects DIU’s continued commitment to promoting research integrity, innovation, and global collaboration while empowering its faculty members to excel in impactful and ethical research endeavors.
