Effat Ara Jahan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Food Engineering at Daffodil International University. She holds a Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Dhaka, achieved with First Class honors in 2009, following a Bachelor of Science degree in the same field, also with First Class honors, in 2008.With a solid academic background, Effat has been actively involved in both academia and industry. She started her professional journey as a Dietitian at Chittagong Diabetic General Hospital before venturing into research and product development roles at various food companies in Bangladesh. Notably, she served as a Sr. Officer at Nur Foods Ltd and as an Analyst at Siddique Food & Agro base Industries Ltd.Effat's academic career progressed steadily as she transitioned from a Lecturer to a Senior Lecturer (Lecturer Senior Scale), and currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Daffodil International University since September 2023. Her research interests lie at the intersection of nutrition, food science, and public health, with a focus on enhancing immunity, exploring food fortification techniques, and investigating dietary habits' impact on health outcomes.She has contributed significantly to academic literature with several publications in reputable journals, covering topics ranging from COVID-19 pandemic coping mechanisms to food product development and nutritional studies. Notable publications include research on the physico-chemical characteristics of cakes utilizing pumpkin flour blends, comparative studies on dairy and coconut milk-based desserts, and investigations into the risk factors of breast cancer prevalent in Bangladesh.Effat Ara Jahan's dedication to advancing knowledge in nutrition and food science, combined with her practical industry experience, positions her as a valuable researcher contributing to both academia and the broader public health discourse in Bangladesh.
