In this paper, we present a comprehensive performance analysis of a hybrid Distributed Raman Amplifier (DRA) applied to a wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) based fiber optic transmission system. Analysis is carried out for single mode fiber with hybrid distributed Raman Amplifier (DRA) and semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) based optical fiber transmission system. Results are evaluated in terms of bit error rate (BER), electrical signal to noise ratio (SNR), gain and optical signal to noise ratio (OSNR) for various values of fiber length, pump power and WDM channel number. BER performance is also evaluated for different combinations of hybrid optical amplifier.
