Abstract

In response to the growing interest in gaming behaviors and their societal implications, particularly in the Global South, we present a dataset documenting gaming habits among university students in Bangladesh. This initiative supports exploratory research on gaming engagement, including potential links to education, social dynamics, and self-reported well-being. The dataset captures behavioral patterns inspired by themes in the World Health Organization’s discussions on gaming health, while prioritizing cultural relevance for low-resource settings. By sharing this resource, we aim to advance understanding of gaming practices in socioeconomically diverse populations and encourage context-sensitive strategies to support balanced gaming habits. Researchers are cautioned that this dataset does not include clinical diagnostic tools for Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD) and should not be used to infer pathology.
