Abstract

This chapter aims to develop how Bangladeshi cultural heritage tourism development balances the demands of community involvement and preservation. Bangladesh, a country rich in historical landmarks and cultural variety, struggles to preserve the authenticity of its legacy. The findings, which are based on secondary data from the body of existing literature and perspectives from stakeholders like local communities, government representatives, and tourism experts, show that while cultural tourism presents opportunities for cultural exchange and substantial economic benefits, there are also significant risks associated with problems like poor heritage management, inadequate infrastructure, and limited community involvement. The chapter suggests using strategic instruments to improve visitor experiences without sacrificing cultural integrity. It concludes that responsible cultural heritage tourism that protects Bangladesh's uniqueness and advances sustainable socioeconomic development requires a cooperative strategy involving legislators, local people, and tourist operators.
