The poultry industry of Bangladesh is labour-intensive and expensive, so it is difficult for farmers to sustain good conditions and feed efficiency. In this paper, we propose a low-cost IoT-based system that solves some of these related issues associated with the monitoring of their poultry farms. The solution comprises a NodeMCU microcontroller, the Blynk IoT platform, and sensory systems for the DHT11 temperature/humidity sensor, as well as the MQ135 gas sensor, to regulate environmental conditions (temperature and humidity) and automate feeding. The system design includes the automatic control of temperature and humidity, allowing an adequate poultry environment and avoiding laborious work. The Blynk application allows for remote monitoring and management of the data from the system. Performance testing indicated that the system offers a viable alternative for poultry production in Bangladesh, using resources more efficiently and therefore reducing costs and improving profitability.
