Abstract

This chapter identifies the potential of the implementation of smart contracts in Fintech and the issues related to digital compliance. The potential of digital environmental, social, and governance (ESG) is also discovered in this chapter. Supply chain finance, green bonds, and sustainability-linked bonds, carbon credit trading, renewable energy trading, and sustainable insurance are among the potential integrations of ESG to smart contracts, which could potentially lead to the development of Fintech. Smart contracts are automated, immutable, transparent, and self-enforced. To promote responsibility in using smart contracts, digital compliance covers automated monitoring, regulatory reporting, data integrity and auditability, risk management, and adaptability. The future growth will be geared towards innovations such as automated and intelligent compliance solutions. Technologies such as machine learning and blockchain continue to play a role due to the presence of massive data for analysis. Trust will be a crucial component for partnerships and collaborations among stakeholders in the future.
