Abstract

BD Eye-Doc, a new system that mixes computer vision with chatbots to help with eye disease screening in Bangladesh. With only one eye doctor for every 100,000 people, it's tough to get care. Our system uses fundus images and AI conversations to screen for diseases. We trained it on 16,140 images of 9 different conditions, handling the imbalance (5.68:1 ratio) with a combo of MobileNetV3 and EfficientNet, hitting 93.13 % accuracy and macro F1 of 0.938. Plus, it chats in English and Bengali using Llama 3.2, finishing consultations in under 2 seconds. This could really help people in remote areas, and it's all open-source.
