Abstract
Voting systems have long been associated with high expenses and complexities, such as high costs, fraud, and particularly challenging auditing systems. This paper proposes a framework using a permissioned blockchain based on Hyperledger Fabric, which is secure and decentralized. The automated and digitized voting system encompasses the entire election lifecycle from the digital registration of citizens to the voting and auto counting of votes. The automated systems, or smart contracts, perform the business logic on a blockchain and are responsible for checking and controlling eligibility, as well as managing the verification of results. In order to ensure privacy, participation identifiers and the votes are combined using secure multi-party cryptographic techniques. Thus, the votes are remniscent of immutable anchoring and are aethostatic. The framework guarantees that only real and authorized citizens can cast votes and that the records are also protected from unauthorized alterations. The results guarantee that Hyperledger Fabric can be employed in complex and regulated situations where sensitive civic and legal identity management, governance, and data integrity need to be balanced. The system will be secure, streamlined, and reduce election fraud. Full accessibility for auditing also serves to protect the system.
