Modern, dependable, and reasonably priced security systems are needed to prevent unwanted access to restricted areas. This study offers a low-cost, battery-operated RFID access control system that overcomes the drawbacks of PIN-based security and traditional locks. A servo-driven latch, an RC522 RFID reader, an ESP8266 NodeMCU, and a passive buzzer were used in the design and implementation of our prototype. The system utilizes RFID tag IDs to verify users, provides rapid feedback, and records access attempts in a local database. Through real-time data logging and monitoring on a local network made possible by the ESP8266's inherent Wi-Fi connectivity, all access attempts may be traced and audited. This prototype shows a dependable, portable, and affordable substitute for more intricate biometric or CCTV-based solutions that can be used in small-scale installations in offices, homes, and educational institutions. The system's efficiency and dependability under nominal settings were demonstrated by early testing, which verified quick response times and unambiguous user engagement.
