Abstract

Smart tourism, powered by technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and big data, has revolutionized the travel industry by enhancing personalization and efficiency. However, this digital ecosystem is vulnerable to cybersecurity threats such as data breaches, ransomware, and phishing, which erode trust among tourists and stakeholders. Integrating cybersecurity with digital forensics offers a robust approach to safeguarding data, ensuring privacy, and enabling effective incident response. This chapter examines the synergy between these disciplines, analyzing challenges, proposing a conceptual framework, and offering actionable recommendations to foster a trusted travel ecosystem. Through a comprehensive literature review and case-based findings, it highlights the critical role of proactive security measures and forensic readiness in smart tourism.
